I'm Going To Be A Daddy

In case the post title doesn't make it perfectly clear, I am going to become a father.  We found out last Monday that Keisha was pregnant, and then on Thursday we found out that she was already eight weeks along, very much to our surprise.  We decided that we were going to have a baby, but man, we didn't realize it would happen so quickly.

Elated.  Nervous.  Thrilled.  We've both been through several different emotions, but chief among them is pure joy.  We're excited.  So, over the next seven months or so, Rememorandom will likely have some new post topics, cause I know next to nothing about babies.  Who knows, maybe I'll even review some pregnancy books...

Kids are incredible. Congrats big time. They're hard work, as I'm sure you know, but there's nothing that compares to the joy.

I'd recommend preparing by watching a lot of stand-up comedy, since the topic of babies/kids comes up frequently, but now that I think of it, that might be counter-productive.

Get ready for everything to change, for the better! It's like getting a new book that is awesome and never-ending!

And who knows... maybe a sequel or two down the road further, eh? :D

Everything you ever wanted to know about parenting can be found in Bill Cosby's Himself stand up routine. I used to think it was just funny. Now I realize it is laced with nuggets of wisdom.

I don't get it?

Just kidding. Congratulations!!! That is such great news. Hard to believe it has been 19 years since I was in your shoes. Time does fly, so enjoy every minute of the experience.

Man, sadly I only know you through our blogging relationship (and for the life of me I can't recall how that even began). But I think I have a pretty good idea what kind of person Logan Stewart is, and that kind of a person should make a pretty damned good daddy, in my opinion. And I think my opinion carries some weight. I've been a father for nearly 16 years now.

Congratulations from the bottom of my heart, Logan. You're in for an amazing ride.
